The Mughals waged a number of wars to consolidate their authority on the subcontinent of India. Most states were dismantled, though many were also retained as vassals, such as the Rajput States. Since they continued to exist in some form, these latter states are not included here.

- Maratha Empire (never completely defeated, but forced into a guerilla role; resurrected shorty after the conquest)
