Below are a list of books and materials, original or otherwise, that are supremely useful in conducting any kind of research on the Mughals. The links are given, where possible, alongside for ease of access. For now, the list only contains works in English, for a wider reach.
Original Works
- Historia do Mogor.
- Muntakhib-ul-Lubab.
- Seir Mutakherin.
- History of India, as Told by its Own Historians.
- The London Gazette. Contains entries on the Mughals from the earliest times. The dates are often useful, though the narrative is at times inaccurate and biased. A combination of search queries, such as "Mogul" or "Moghul" or other similar terms, leads to a more fuller search. https://www.thegazette.co.uk/
Secondary Sources
- Later Mughals, by William Irvine
- Fall of the Mughal Empire, by Jadunath Sarkar.
- Turks in India, by Henry George Keene.
- Fall of the Moghul Empire, by Henry George Keene.
