List of Mughal Subahs

  

The Mughal administrative structure consisted of the empire divided into subahs (provinces) under a Subahdar (governor), and sarkars (districts), under Faujdars. The exact number of provinces is unclear, with authors such as H. G. Keene and William Irvine giving different estimates.
